Lenexa Rec Center Pandemic Update
Posted on Nov 15th, 2020
On November 14, the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners issued an emergency public health order with new restrictions in an effort to slow the exponential rise in COVID-19 transmission in the community.
Your health and safety continues to be our highest priority. Here are the changes we will make at the Lenexa Rec Center to comply with the new order starting Monday, Nov. 16.
Family, men's and women's locker rooms will be closed until further notice.
Restroom facilities will still be available (but no showers or lockers).
Small day lockers will still be accessible throughout the facility.
Birthday parties will not be offered until further notice.
Second floor gym
No organized play will be allowed.
Maximum of three individuals allowed per hoop.
Must maintain social distancing and wear a face mask when not actively participating in an activity.
Patrons must come prepared to swim and leave without using locker room changing areas or shower amenities.
Face masks and social distancing will be required on the pool deck. (Face masks may not be worn while in the water.)
How members and visitors can step up
We appreciate your continued help with these four ongoing safety measures to limit the spread of COVID-19:
Please stay home if you are sick or have been exposed to someone who is ill with COVID-19 symptoms (such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, chills).
Members, guests and participants age 6 and over must wear face masks that cover your mouth and nose when entering the Rec Center and traveling through non-workout areas of the facility.
Wash your hands thoroughly and often.
Maintain at least 6 feet of social distance from other people.
