The best way to protect yourself from getting the flu is to receive a flu shot. The vaccine is safe and effective. The Johnson County Department of Health can help you take the first step to preparing your health for respiratory virus season!
Seasonal flu shots (ages 6 months and older) and high-dose flu shots (ages 65 and older) are now available at our walk-in immunization clinics in Olathe and Mission.
It’s recommended that everyone 6 months and older who is eligible get an annual flu shot by the end of October. Flu shots are covered by most private health insurance plans, Medicare Part B and Medicaid, or can be paid out-of-pocket.
